“If there’s one lesson my experience with the carnage of addiction and mental illness has taught me, it’s that there has to be one trusted and independent source that explains all the treatment options available when you are at your most vulnerable time.”

Neal Nordlinger, Founder, inCrisis Consultants

If you get that 3 a.m. call that a loved one, friend or colleague is in crisis due to addiction or a mental disorder, would you know what to do?

Of the 25,000 addiction and mental health programs in the U.S., would you know the one right for your son, daughter, spouse or yourself?
Likely not.

How do I know this?  I’ve been there. 15 years ago, I got that call and had no idea what to do.
Today, I am an Interventionist and Treatment Placement Specialist
— and I know
exactly what to do.

For over a decade, I have been guiding families through the labyrinth of treatment options, insurance and the multiple aspects of recovery while protecting them from the counterfeit programs trolling the rapidly expanding $150 billion treatment industry.

From Intervention to Recovery,
I know your options.
Interventions — choosing the right rehab — the right insurance — sober escort to rehab — defense attorneys — year-long case management

I present and execute the options that best fit YOU.

You are probably experiencing one of a thousand nightmares: your loved one is in denial and won't admit to having an addiction...he/she is under arrest and in jail... is in the emergency room due to an overdose or psychotic break... needs your help, but you don't know what to do. Plus, in the next few hours and days you need to make decisions on a myriad of crucial issues:

  • Does the individual need to be stabilized?

  • Is there a diagnosis? Substance Use Disorder (SUD)? Mental Health (MH)? Primary MH + Secondary SUD? Primary SUD + Secondary MH?

  • Does he need residential treatment? What is residential treatment?

  • Is he compliant with going to treatment or is an intervention necessary? What is intervention and how do I arrange one?

  • If your loved one is in jail, should you leave him there or post bail?

  • Do you know a criminal defense lawyer? Can you afford one or do you need a public defender?

  • Out of the plethora of rehabs, how do you know which is the right one? Can I trust what I see on Google?

  • What is licensure?

  • How much does treatment cost? Will my insurance help? What if I can’t afford it, are there still options?

  • How long does treatment take? Is there a cure?

  • What is detox? How long does that take?

  • What’s the difference between 30, 60, 90 days of treatment?

  • What is inpatient and outpatient treatment?

  • What is RTC, PHP, IOP, OP, MAT, sober living?

  • For treatment, should he be close or far away?

  • Am I enabling his addiction or mental disorder?

Neal Nordlinger

Interventionist, Treatment Placement Specialist, Author

A 25-year veteran of the movie and TV industry, 15 years ago Neal Nordlinger got that 3:00 a.m. call that a loved one was in crisis due to addiction — and he had no idea what to do. Because of his family's subsequent journey through addiction and recovery, he began receiving calls appealing for help from individuals and families also in crisis. That 3 a.m. call changed his life in ways he could have never imagined by launching inCrisis Consultants.  For over a decade, Nordlinger has been matching those in addiction and/or mental disorder crises with the right rehab that best matches the individual's diagnosis, personal, medical & social factors and the resources to pay for it. All the steps necessary to dramatically shorten the learning curve for terrified, vulnerable families in crisis who have no idea what to do.

Nordlinger also realized that families needed a “how-to” book on finding the right treatment at the right rehab. Since that book didn’t exist, he wrote it himself under his pen name, Walter Wolf. Called the ultimate “what you need to know” guide for families, The Right Rehab (Rowman & Littlefield, 2022), details what treatment is, how to identify and access treatment options that best fit the individual and the family’s ability to pay for that treatment.

From producing movies and television to now an Interventionist, Treatment Placement Specialist and Author, Nordlinger now helps families navigate the labyrinth of treatment options, insurance, and aftercare in the pursuit of long term recovery.

Serving families throughout the U.S. and overseas, Nordlinger is based in Oklahoma City and Los Angeles. He may be reached at 310.200.7530 or neal@incrisisconsultants.com

Neal Nordlinger is that rare find of a professional who cares. Through several years of trying to help my daughter, Neal and his company, inCrisis Consultants, have finally given me hope. Many people have lists of places and programs, Neal personally knows the places and programs, as well as the directors. Neal recommended the correct fit and program for my daughter after getting thorough information about her intellect, personality and past rehab history. Neal gets intensely involved right along with you because he has personal, family experience with the same problems. He stays with you through the entire journey of rehab and aftercare, checking constantly on progress. You know it is a calling/or Neal to help both the patient and to encourage your family. He was recommended to me by a family he had serviced. I am grateful.
